HOW FUN ARE THESE?!?! Earrings made from that ancient tender called COINS! All jokes aside, these earrings are HANDmade from dimes that are prepped and carefully bent into adorable little cowgirl/cowboy hats.
U.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt Dimes were minted 1946-present – designed by John R. Sinnock, consisting of a bust of FDR, “LIBERTY”, “In God We Trust”, Mint Mark, and Date on the Obverse. The other side features an olive branch, torch and oak branch.
Dimensions: ~1-1/2" from top of hanging hook x ~3/4" tall x ~1/2" wide.
All of our creations are handmade - as such no two items are exactly alike. The items in the photos represents the general design.
For all our designs we choose wonderful vintage/antique silverplate cutlery - this case it is coins. Once chosen, the pieces are modified and beautified by HAND; they are drilled, bent and polished. We do not cast/mold any of our designs, they are all handmade, one-of-a-kind creations.
Condition: Please note, this is an antique item that was once used as an active currency. As a result, there may be some wear to the piece, fine scratches or marks from use. But some wear gives the piece patina and personality. We do our best to disclose any condition issues of note.
NOTE: It is not illegal to make things out of coins. Under Section 331 of Title 18 of the United States code: “As a matter of policy, the U.S. Mint does not promote coloring, plating or altering U.S. coinage: however, there are no sanctions against such activity absent fraudulent intent.“ Naturally, you cannot spend the coin once it’s been turned into a new creation.
