This handcrafted spoon link bracelet is made from an upcycled vintage silverplate spoon in the Rogers Brothers Louvain pattern, first introduced in 1918. A century-old heirloom is transformed here into modern, wearable art.

The name Louvain likely comes from the French name for Leuven, one of Europe's oldest university towns — home to KU Leuven (founded in 1425) and a long tradition of scholarship, printing, fine arts, and ornate medieval architecture. Early 20th‑century American silver companies often chose European city names to evoke old‑world elegance, scholarly refinement, and artistic heritage, and the Louvain pattern fits beautifully into that tradition.

Before becoming jewelry, this spoon lived its first life at the dinner table, its scrollwork catching candlelight and adding grace to every gathering. Rediscovered decades later, it was revived in the studio — reshaped into a unique upcycled bracelet with a true history.

This piece features an adjustable length chain for comfortable, variable sizing and is adorned with glass beads, including a striking vintage red rosary bead that adds a pop of color and a touch of soulful character.
