Product description

This handcrafted figural spoon ring is made from an upcycled vintage silverplate Palmolive commemorative spoon — eco-friendly silverware jewelry featuring Yvonne of the famous Dionne quintuplets, the first set of quints in history to survive infancy.

Palmolive created this premium spoon to celebrate the 1934 birth of the Dionne quintuplets — the first set of quints in history to survive infancy and a cultural phenomenon of their time. This spoon ring features Yvonne, rendered in a beautifully detailed figural portrait that echoes the era’s fascination with the quints. Now transformed into a ring, it carries both the nostalgia of its extraordinary origin and the fresh charm of its new life in silver.

The figural top of the ring was made from the Yvonne spoon handle end and was cut filed and finished. It was then married with the shank which is from another spoon that was in the scrap bin that has a lovely bit of detail as well.

For all of our designs we choose wonderful authentic vintage/antique silverware — giving each piece a second life as eco-friendly, upcycled jewelry, accessories or housewares. Once chosen, the pieces are modified and beautified by HAND; they are cut, drilled, filed and polished, etc. We do not cast/mold any of our designs, they are all handmade, one-of-a-kind creations. All of our creations are handmade - as such no two items are exactly alike.

Condition: Please note, this is an antique item that was once used as a utensil. As a result, there may be some wear from use. But some wear gives the piece patina and personality. We do our best to disclose any condition issues of note.
