Sterling Spoon Ring - BUTTERCUP - #5864
Here’s a truly stunning sterling silver spoon ring, crafted from a pattern with the sweetest name—Buttercup. This design, created by the Gorham Manufacturing Company, was wildly popular for its all‑over buttercup floral motif. The detailing is incredible, and yes—the pattern even carries over to the inside of the ring. And just to be clear, this piece is solid sterling silver, not silver‑plated.
This particular spoon comes from the estate of Polly Bigger. Polly was born in Louisiana, and after WWII she and her husband made their way to Mt. Vernon, Iowa, where he graduated from Cornell College. Together they later owned the Bigger Flower Shop & Greenhouse. Polly adored her family, loved to cook (southern style, of course), and never missed a chance to share a good family story.
Now, this ring carries a bit of her history—something she loved, used, and cherished. And now, it gets to be loved all over again.

For all our designs we choose wonderful authentic vintage/antique silverware. Once chosen, the pieces are modified and beautified by HAND; they are cut, drilled, filed and polished, etc. We do not cast/mold any of our designs, they are all handmade, one-of-a-kind creations. All of our creations are handmade - as such no two items are exactly alike.
Condition: Please note, this is an antique item that was once used as a utensil. As a result, there may be some wear from use. But some wear gives the piece patina and personality. We do our best to disclose any condition issues of note.
